Paper Haircut Craft
In this fun and creative paper craft, kids create colorful hair for a drawn face using strips of colored paper. First, they cut paper into strips and glue the ends together to make loops. The paper loops are then glued onto the top of the drawn face to create the hair. Once the hair is attached, kids can use scissors to give their paper person a haircut by cutting the strips into different lengths and styles. This activity encourages creativity while helping children practice their cutting, gluing, and fine-motor skills.
Supplies
You will need the following supplies to create the haircut craft,
- Colored construction paper
- White paper or cardstock for the face
- Scissors
- Glue or glue stick
- Black marker for drawing the face
- Optional: googly eyes or other decorations
Construction
- Cut the colored paper into strips. I cut the long way then cut those strips in half.
- Draw a face onto the white cardstock.
- Place a dot of glue on one end of a strip.
- Make a loop with the strip and press the ends together so that the glue will help them stick together.
- Place a dot of glue on the white cardstock above the drawn face.
- Continue until you have enough loops for the hair.
- Using kid friendly scissors, cut the loops to create a unique haircut!
